Introducing jPhone, the smartphone your players will want to take out of their pockets.

The screen is drawn directly onto the 3D model you’re holding. You move a round pointer with the mouse, tap, long-press and swipe just like on a real phone, and you can carry on walking whilst doing so. A scroll wheel click rotates it horizontally for the camera, maps and video calls, and other players see it rotating in your hand.

I built it around a few simple ideas:

  1. A living phone. Lock screen with Face ID, calls and FaceTime, messages with photos and GIFs, camera and jCloud, GPS with turn-by-turn navigation and 3D buildings, Find My, banking, stock market and two games, all linked together.
  2. Designed for roleplay. Emergency numbers, police detention with data extraction, a dark web with anonymous contracts, areas with no network coverage, and the doors and cameras of your home right in your pocket.
  3. Connected to your server. GlorifiedBanking, SlownLS ATM, Blue’s ATM, Realistic Police, CCTV System, sPrinter, OnePrint and Billy’s Logs work straight away. Coming from an aPhone? Your players keep their messages, contacts and photos.
  4. Adjusted in-game. A configuration menu with over 100 options across 15 categories, complete with a search function, and changes take effect immediately for players. A tool (toolgun) maps out the roads, locations and buildings on your map for the GPS.
  5. Secure by design. Every request from a player is double-checked by the server and limited in frequency. Anyone who unlocks a phone that isn’t theirs cannot access the owner’s money, location or settings.
  6. Lightweight. The screen slows to 3 frames per second when nothing is moving; only changes are transmitted over the network, and each player chooses their screen quality.
  7. SQLite or MySQL. Phones load whilst players are logging in, and nothing is lost when the server shuts down.
  8. Available in 4 languages: English, French, Spanish and German, and each player chooses their own.
